The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) says it will provide solar-powered water supply systems to improve access to clean water in vulnerable areas of Ghor.
The organization wrote on its X page on Tuesday, September 1, that access to clean water closer to where families live gives children more opportunities to pursue education, play, and growth.
UNICEF said the solar-powered water supply systems will be provided to vulnerable areas of Ghor with support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea.
The organization added that having closer access to clean water can improve families’ living conditions and provide children with more opportunities.
This comes as the shortage of safe drinking water remains one of the major challenges in many rural and remote areas of Afghanistan.
