Kabul – The US Department of State has said that the new US top envoy for peace in Afghanistan Tom West on his initial mission to negotiate regarding Afghanistan will travel to Brussels, the capital of Belgium.
The Foreign Minister of the US Antony Blinken tweeted on Monday, (November 8) that Tow West is supposed to discuss the issues of Afghanistan with the US partners and its allies in Brussels.
“From today, I will travel to Europe and Asia to negotiate regarding the future of Afghanistan with the US partners and its allies,” Tow West said.
Tom West has also stressed the efficient cooperation of the international community for Afghanistan’s situation.
Earlier, Zalmay Khalilzad had served as the US special envoy for peace in Afghanistan for two years, and the Doha agreement between the Taliban and the US is credited to his work.
