US Senator Chuck Schumer has criticized the prolonged US war with Iran and accused Republicans of helping President Donald Trump continue the conflict.
The senator wrote on X early Tuesday, September 29, that Trump had said the war would last four to five weeks, but it has now entered its eighth month.
Schumer said the American people and US military personnel are paying the price for a war started by Trump.
He also accused Republican senators of helping prolong the war, saying, “Senate Republicans had the opportunity to vote to end this illegal war, but instead they voted to keep it going. They are complicit.”
This comes as Donald Trump recently claimed that the war with Iran would end soon with a US victory.
