Bernie Sanders, a US senator, has said that the United States government should listen to the voice of the American people and halt military aid to Israel.
The US senator wrote on his X account early Wednesday, September 30, that two years ago he had also called for a vote on Israel’s human rights violations in Gaza.
He said: “In January 2024, I had to force a vote to investigate Israel’s human rights violations in Gaza.”
This comes as 47 US senators voted on a resolution to investigate Israel’s actions in the West Bank.
In recent months, Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip and attacks by the country’s military on civilians have faced strong opposition from US politicians and public opinion.
