Sher Ahmad Haqqani, the Taliban’s Minister of Information and Culture, has said that they do not believe in the justice of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in response to the court’s recent decision.
The Taliban-controlled Bakhtar News Agency reported on Wednesday, October 7, that Haqqani made the remarks at a meeting in Nangarhar.
He also claimed that everyone’s rights are protected in Afghanistan and that any deaths are investigated and reviewed.
The Taliban’s Minister of Information and Culture further claimed that “Afghans have no belief in the justice of the International Criminal Court.”
Haqqani criticized the ICC’s position on the ongoing events in Gaza, saying that the court has remained silent over what he described as the “killing of millions of innocent people.”
The Taliban’s Minister of Information and Culture added that those who remain silent about the killing of civilians and “describe injustice as justice” cannot speak about fairness and justice.
The remarks come as the International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for Habibullah Agha, the Taliban’s Minister of Education, and Neda Mohammad Nadeem, the group’s Minister of Higher Education.
