The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced that a new emergency care center in Nimroz province is providing health and life-saving services to migrants returning from Iran.
In a post on X on Tuesday, October 27, the organization said the center was inaugurated on October 26, 2026, and operates with financial support from the European Union’s humanitarian aid department (ECHO).
WHO added that hundreds of Afghans return from Iran through the Milak border crossing in Nimroz province every day, making access to emergency health services crucial to saving lives.
The center provides emergency medical treatment, life-saving care and referrals to specialized health facilities for women and men returning to Afghanistan.
These services are being provided as the return and forced deportation of Afghan nationals from Iran and Pakistan continue amid economic and social challenges.
