The World Bank has said that the war in the Middle East has affected energy supplies, food security, various goods, and economic activity in many countries and regions.
In a post on X on Thursday, July 9, the bank said that the global economy has generally remained resilient in the face of shocks caused by the conflict in the Middle East.
The global financial institution emphasized that, together with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the International Energy Agency (IEA), and the World Trade Organization (WTO), it continues to closely monitor developments and will adjust its support to countries based on changing circumstances.
However, the war in the Middle East, particularly the conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, has disrupted oil trade in the Gulf region and contributed to rising global oil prices.
