The army of Yemen’s internationally recognized government has said it targeted Houthi positions west of the city of Taiz.
Al Jazeera reported early Tuesday, November 3, citing a military spokesperson.
According to the report, the spokesperson said Yemeni fighter jets had carried out two airstrikes against Houthi positions.
He said government aircraft targeted Houthi military vehicles in the Jabal Habashi area, killing several Houthi fighters.
Meanwhile, Houthi-affiliated media claimed that an airstrike in the Al-Taiziyah area, north of Taiz, hit a factory producing plastic shoes, killing three people and injuring eight others.
The developments come as fighting and tensions in Yemen have intensified sharply in recent weeks, displacing tens of thousands of people.
