A 6.3-magnitude earthquake struck near the southern coast of the Philippines on Wednesday.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported on Wednesday, August 5, that the epicenter of the earthquake was located 32 kilometers southwest of the small island of Sarangani.
According to the report, the event was recorded at 12:14 p.m. local time (04:14 GMT).
The earthquake did not trigger a tsunami warning, and no reports of casualties or damage have been released so far.
The event occurred after the powerful earthquake on June 8 on Mindanao Island, which caused buildings to collapse, triggered landslides, and killed at least 76 people.
The Philippines is one of the world’s most earthquake-prone regions due to its location along the “Pacific Ring of Fire,” and earthquakes frequently occur there.
