Local sources in Parwan province say that 13 workers were arrested by the Taliban in Hanrowa Bala village 26 days ago, and their whereabouts remain unknown.

Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Monday, October 12, that the individuals were arrested without having committed any crime. Their current place of detention remains unknown.

Mohammad Anwar, Mohammad Alam, Gulistan, Malik Hashim, Hamid Khan, Khairullah, Mehrullah, Fazlullah, Sayed-ul-Rahman, Hesamuddin, Gul Saeed, Khodayar and Agha Gul are among those arrested.

According to the sources, following the arrests, the area representative, accompanied by several village elders, went to Salang district. However, Taliban officials in the district did not provide accurate information about the detainees’ whereabouts.

The sources added that they also visited the provincial capital of Parwan to follow up on the detainees’ situation but received no clear answers there either.

The incident comes as the Taliban have repeatedly arrested and tortured citizens of Afghanistan for various reasons over the past five years, with some also being killed.
