Local sources say that training centers for Taliban members in Helmand province have better facilities than public training centers for the general population.

Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Monday, October 12, that training centers for Taliban members have better learning materials, advanced equipment, dormitories, and stipends, while ordinary students are deprived of these facilities.

Students in Helmand say they face shortages of learning materials and educational facilities, and their problems are worsening day by day.

It is reported that the money previously paid to students at public institutes in Helmand under the designation of “subsistence allowance” has also been discontinued.

Some students say they have repeatedly raised their concerns with Taliban officials in Helmand, but their demands have yet to be addressed.

Meanwhile, sources say the Taliban also discriminate between their fighters and ordinary citizens in government offices in other provinces of Afghanistan.
