Kabul – Members of a family in Helmand province claim that their teenager was killed by Taliban forces in the province.

The family states that this member of their family had just written a Facebook text in support of the teachers and that he was killed the previous day.

According to information, the killed man was reportedly named Navid, and a few days ago he criticized the non-payment of teachers’ salaries on his Facebook page.

“Teachers demand salaries from the Taliban,” he wrote.

Now, Navid’s family says that last Thursday night, on November 25, a number of Taliban local government forces stormed their house and took Navid away by force.

Although his family members went to the Helmand National Directorate of Security to try to free him, they were unsuccessful.

“We and some of my friends went to the National Security Directorate for questioning. We told them that if our son did something wrong, he was a teenager. “The Taliban in the first district responded that they would launch an investigation today, Friday, and tomorrow, Saturday, and then release them,” a member of family told Hasht-e Subh.

However, the father of this family has returned to this department and asked about his son’s condition.

The Taliban, however, told him that the boy was not in the department and had escaped.

Taliban forces have said they are looking for his son and will inform him if he is found.

The next day, a number of his elders and relatives called him when he wanted to go to the National Security Directorate and said that Navid was in the hospital with a broken leg, the family member added.

According to him, when they went to the hospital, they saw that their son had been killed.

“He was shot in the face, his head was broken in two or three places, his shoulders were bruised and his back was sore. His whole body was wounded. It was soaked in water, finally, is this Islam, is this humanity?” he said.

The family member states that his friends told him that the local Kochis had dragged his brother from the Helmand Sea “with his hands and feet tied” and taken him to the hospital.

Although the Taliban have not yet commented officially, the family says the deputy governor of Helmand has assured them of justice.

He called on the Taliban to bring the perpetrators to justice.
