Media outlets under Taliban control reported that 1,063 migrant families returned to the country yesterday.
The Taliban-controlled Bakhtar News Agency reported on Saturday, December 20, that 30 families returned via Islam Qala in Herat, 185 families through Spin Boldak in Kandahar, 790 families through Torkham in Nangarhar, and 58 families through Bahramcha in Helmand.
Two days earlier, more than 500 migrant families had returned to the country.
The deportation of Afghan migrants from Iran and Pakistan continues and has increased in recent days.
The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has also announced that the return of Afghan migrants from Pakistan is ongoing, with around 7,000 people returning to Afghanistan each day.
