According to sources, a doctor at a drug addiction treatment center in Kabul has disappeared after being arrested by the Taliban.

Sources told Hasht-e Subh on Thursday, 20 April, that the doctor, Ehsanullah Nezami, was arrested by the Taliban about 10 days ago from his workplace.

Sources citing Ehsanullah’s family say there is no news of his fate after his arrest.

Ehsanullah Nezami is a resident of the Reyot Valley of Panjshir province.

Sources claim that the Taliban have previously detained and tortured other members of Ehsanullah’s family on the pretext of cooperation with the National Resistance Front.

The exact motive for the arrest of this doctor is unknown at this time.

The Taliban have not yet commented on the matter.

According to reports, the Taliban have previously detained and tortured dozens of residents of Panjshir on various charges from this province and other parts of the country and in some cases, have killed them.
