The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee also said that access to information is not only essential for journalists to carry out their professional responsibilities, but also helps citizens stay informed about issues affecting their lives and communities.
The committee said improving access to information can increase transparency, strengthen accountability among responsible institutions, and make public communication more effective.
The committee said it will continue supporting journalists and working to create a safe environment for media activities.
September 28 is observed as the International Day for Universal Access to Information.
The United Nations designated the day to highlight the importance of access to information and its role in society.
