The Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) has announced the deployment of its commando units in various parts of Badakhshan Province.
The group said on Saturday, May 16, by publishing a video of its forces, that it is actively present on the battlefield in Badakhshan. It added that over the past month at least four incidents of attacks, ambushes, and clashes have taken place in Jurm district of Badakhshan, particularly in the Khostak Valley. According to the group, Taliban attacks on their positions were “repelled and neutralized.”
The front claimed that as a result of these clashes, Taliban forces suffered casualties and were forced to retreat.
The statement further said that the presence of the group’s forces has increased in some areas of Badakhshan, describing the situation as part of its efforts to organize and expand its military activities.
The AFF also said that the Taliban have imposed movement restrictions in some areas and carried out house-to-house searches and arrests.
In another part of the statement, the group called on the people of Badakhshan and other provinces to support what it described as the “struggle against Taliban rule,” emphasizing that it will continue its activities.
