The Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) has claimed responsibility for an attack on Taliban personnel from the Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice in Herat, alleging that three members were killed and two others wounded.
In a statement issued on Friday night, June 12, the group said the attack took place at around 10:00 p.m. near the entrance of the Taliban’s morality police headquarters in Herat city.
According to the AFF, the attack targeted a gathering of Taliban morality police personnel.
The group claimed that three members of the Taliban’s Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice were killed and two others injured in the assault.
The AFF said the operation was carried out in response to what it described as the Taliban’s suppression of public protests and harassment of women in Herat.
The group had previously warned that it would target Taliban personnel following the reported detention of women and girls by the Taliban in Kabul.
