Afghanistan Freedom Front Reports Heavy Taliban Casualties in Badakhshan’s Zebak

The emblem of the Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF), a resistance movement that has pledged to cooperate with the UN's newly established independent accountability mechanism to document human rights violations and Taliban crimes in Afghanistan.

The Afghanistan Freedom Front has announced that at least 10 Taliban fighters were killed and six others wounded in fresh clashes in Zebak district.

In a statement posted on X on Wednesday, August 26, the front said that fresh fighting between its forces and reinforcements of Taliban fighters began yesterday afternoon and continued until 10:00 p.m.

According to the statement, a counterattack by Freedom Front forces inflicted heavy casualties on Taliban fighters and forced them to retreat.

The Freedom Front added that foreign terrorists were also among the Taliban fighters.

The statement said that, concerned about the identities of their foreign terrorist associates being exposed on the Zebak front, the Taliban had transferred their bodies and wounded fighters to undisclosed locations.

This comes as the Taliban had previously consistently denied the existence of any armed resistance against them in Afghanistan.
