Nasir Ahmed Andisha, Afghanistan’s ambassador to Switzerland, has responded to Pakistan’s airstrikes on the provinces of Nangarhar and Paktika, stating that the attacks constitute a clear violation of Afghanistan’s territorial integrity.
In a post on X on Sunday, February 22, 2026, Andisha wrote that Pakistan’s airstrikes on residential areas represent a disproportionate and condemnable act.
The ambassador further emphasized that the Taliban, with their “exclusive ethnic and religious governance” that has left them isolated from the world, have instilled fear among the people and possess neither the legitimacy nor the capacity to confront such threats.
Andisha added that terrorist groups and organizations in the region are well acquainted with one another, and it is always ordinary people and civilians who bear the cost of these conflicts.
This comes as local Taliban officials confirmed that Pakistan’s airstrikes the previous night on the provinces of Nangarhar and Paktika killed 18 members of a single family in Nangarhar.
The strikes come at a time when relations between the Taliban and Pakistan have grown increasingly fragile in recent months due to border tensions, with Islamabad consistently asserting that terrorist groups are using Afghan soil to launch attacks against Pakistan, a claim the Taliban have rejected.
