US President Donald Trump has said that a resumption of the war with Iran would be “very unlikely” if negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program make progress and the Strait of Hormuz is reopened.
CNN reported on Sunday, November 8, that Trump made the remarks in response to a question about the possibility of the United States returning to war with Iran. He said this would depend on Tehran signing a “very strong” agreement.
He also claimed that Iran was facing severe economic problems.
The US president added that Washington had dealt heavy blows to Iran and was prepared to take military action again if necessary.
Trump further said that Iran was becoming financially weaker and that, in addition to its military strikes, the United States had the capability to bring the country completely to its knees.
