Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader, has appointed Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr, the former secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, as his political adviser.
Fars News Agency reported late Sunday, August 10, that Zolghadr was appointed political adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader after resigning as secretary of the country’s Supreme National Security Council.
According to the report, Zolghadr recently stepped down as secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council. Mohsen Rezaei, an adviser to the Supreme Leader, was appointed to replace him by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
Zolghadr was appointed secretary of the council following the killing of Ali Larijani, the former secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, in Israeli and US airstrikes.
