Antony Blinken, the former US secretary of state, has called for a diplomatic solution to the US war with Iran following the Republicans’ defeat in the midterm elections.
In a message on Wednesday, November 4, Blinken said the election results showed that Americans were dissatisfied with the government’s performance and that Washington should pay attention to their message.
He added that the policies of US President Donald Trump’s administration over the past two years had negatively affected the country’s security and economy, with American families paying the price.
Blinken described reaching a diplomatic agreement on the US war with Iran as an appropriate step towards changing the Trump administration’s policies.
