Thomas Massie, a member of the US House of Representatives, has said he will bring a motion to impeach Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to a vote unless he resigns.
In a post on X on Thursday, November 5, Massie said he would only refrain from reintroducing the impeachment motion if Hegseth stepped down.
Meanwhile, CNN reported that Massie is expected to introduce the motion after Congress returns next week.
According to the report, several Republican sources said the motion could pass.
Hegseth was among the early supporters of launching the war against Iran, which US President Donald Trump has said played a significant role in the Republicans’ defeat in the midterm elections.
