U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has reported the forced rerouting of 105 commercial vessels in regional waters as part of the U.S. naval blockade of Iran.
CENTCOM said on X late Friday, September 18, that the naval blockade of Iran remains in effect.
The U.S. military described the rerouting of commercial vessels as a measure to ensure compliance with the naval blockade of Iran.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has described the continued U.S. naval blockade of the country as tantamount to a continuation of the war.
The U.S. naval blockade of Iran was imposed in response to Tehran’s closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
