Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader, has said that the results of the US midterm elections and concessions made by Tehran will not change Washington’s hostility towards Iran.
On Wednesday, November 4, he warned that if the United States launches another attack, Iran’s response will be far more extensive.
Khamenei described attacks on US military bases in the region and the management of the Strait of Hormuz as part of Tehran’s campaign against US “dominance.”
Iran’s Supreme Leader added: “The United States sees the end of its dominance as distant, but we consider it near.”
These remarks come as Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, had earlier said that the American people had opposed the war.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has acknowledged the role of the war with Iran in the Republicans’ defeat in the midterm elections, but has defended his decision to launch the war.
