The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced that 138 commercial vessels have been forced to change course as part of the US naval blockade of Iran in regional waters.

In a post on X early Sunday, September 18, the command said the vessels had been diverted to ensure full compliance with the naval blockade of Iran.

The US military said US Navy warships remain deployed in the region to enforce the blockade in full.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps recently warned ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

Tensions between Iran and the United States over control of the Strait of Hormuz have persisted for several months.
