The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) says it has redirected 48 commercial vessels as part of its ongoing response to Iran’s naval blockade.
In a post on X on Wednesday night, August 5, CENTCOM said the United States continues its naval blockade operations against Iran.
The US military said that, as of August 5, American forces had redirected 48 commercial vessels operating in regional waters.
CENTCOM also said it had disabled two vessels and boarded and inspected two others.
In recent days, US forces have regularly released figures on the number of vessels they have redirected, disabled, or inspected.
Iran, however, has warned that the continuation of the US naval blockade against the country would be regarded as a continuation of the war.
