Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that 33 people were killed following multiple Russian strikes on a village in Ukraine a day earlier, with more than 50 others feared trapped under the rubble.
Agence France-Presse (AFP) reported on Tuesday night, November 3, that Zelenskyy made the remarks during a visit to Berlin, describing the incident as one of Moscow’s worst attacks of the war.
According to the report, Russia launched heavy attacks on Ukraine on Monday and Tuesday, following the end of a weekend ceasefire.
The attacks have dimmed hopes of meaningful progress in negotiations scheduled to be held next week in Abu Dhabi under US leadership.
Zelenskyy said, “One attack alone killed 33 people.” He added, “Five people have been rescued, and more than 50 others may still be trapped under the rubble.”
The attack occurred hours after the end of a ceasefire that had been in place for several days in the Kherson region, allowing a rare humanitarian mission to take place.
