Meanwhile, US officials have confirmed that American forces carried out airstrikes on the island.
The Wall Street Journal also reported, citing US officials, that the US military had struck targets on Qeshm Island.
According to reports, a US fighter jet destroyed an Iranian surface-to-air missile launcher after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) fired at an American aircraft.
