Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty have held a phone conversation to discuss regional issues.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, October 27, Araghchi’s Telegram channel said the two sides discussed regional developments and bilateral relations.
According to the statement, the foreign ministers emphasized the continuation of consultations and the need to promote stability and security among countries in the region.
“During the phone call, the two sides stressed the need to maintain close consultations among regional countries to reduce tensions and establish security and stability in the region,” the statement said.
The talks came shortly after Tehran hosted senior officials from Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, who agreed to continue dialogue among countries in the region.
Egypt and Iran are both key players in the Middle East, with direct influence on regional affairs and considerable influence over various regional groups.
