Hakan Fidan, Turkey’s foreign minister, has said that Turkey and several other countries have presented new conditions aimed at ending the war between Iran and the United States.
Al Jazeera reported early Sunday, September 20, that the Turkish foreign minister made the remarks in an interview with a local media outlet.
According to the report, Fidan said Turkey and other countries are working to help bring negotiations between Iran and the United States to a conclusion.
“Turkey and other countries are putting forward proposals and making every effort to bring the negotiations between the United States and Iran to a conclusion,” he said.
Fidan, however, identified deep mistrust between Washington and Tehran as the main factor behind the suspension of talks.
This comes as Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s National Security Council, recently also announced that Tehran had presented its conditions for negotiations to the United States.
