The Taliban has announced that 253 families of Afghan migrants, comprising 1,135 people, have returned to Afghanistan.
Hamdullah Fitrat, the Taliban’s spokesperson, said in a statement on Tuesday, September 29, that the migrants entered Afghanistan through various border crossings the previous day.
According to Fitrat, 53 families, comprising 294 people, entered the country through the Torkham crossing in Nangarhar.
He added that 11 families, comprising 53 people, entered Afghanistan through the Spin Boldak crossing in Kandahar.
The Taliban spokesperson said another 165 families, comprising 705 people, returned to the country through the Silk Bridge crossing in Nimroz.
According to Fitrat, another 24 migrant families, comprising 83 people, entered Afghanistan through the Islam Qala crossing in Herat.
