The human rights organization Rawadari says that civil resistance to the Taliban’s repression and human rights violations over the past five years has kept alive hope for a future based on human rights, equality, and human dignity.
In a statement issued on Saturday, August 15, coinciding with the fifth anniversary of the collapse of the Islamic Republic in Afghanistan, the organization called for the continuation and strengthening of efforts to document cases of human rights violations across Afghanistan.
Rawadari stressed that recording and documenting these cases is important for preserving evidence of human rights violations and holding those responsible accountable.
This comes as the Taliban seized control of Afghanistan on August 15, 2021, after which widespread reports of human rights violations and restrictions on civil liberties in the country have been published.
