Following the detention and killings of former military members, local sources in Takhar province report that the Taliban have killed a former soldier in this province.
The former soldier, named Shamsullah, was killed today (Thursday, May 17th) around 7:00 AM in Hazarbagh village, Khaja Ghar district.
The Taliban killed him in front of his family members.
According to sources, Shamsullah was a former officer of the previous government’s national army and had engaged in personal activities after the Taliban took control of the country.
Taliban security officials have not yet commented on this matter.
Despite the Taliban’s repeated emphasis on respecting general amnesty, the detention, torture, and killing of former soldiers by this group continues.
It is worth mentioning that yesterday the Taliban also detained the son of a former soldier in Balkh.
