Exclusive

Local sources have reported that Pakistani fighter jets bombed a Taliban military base in the Shakin district of Paktika province.

Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Friday, October 30, that Pakistani fighter jets targeted a Taliban base near the Angoor Ada border crossing on Thursday afternoon.

According to the sources, the Taliban had abandoned the base about three months ago following clashes with Pakistani forces and relocated to an area five kilometres away.

The sources added that Taliban fighters came under attack by Pakistani fighter jets after attempting to re-establish their presence at the base.

No details are currently available about casualties or financial losses resulting from the attack.

This comes as Taliban fighters and Pakistani forces have clashed at least four times over the past week at the Angoor Ada and Torkham crossings.
