Residents of Herat Province have complained about frequent power outages during temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, saying that necessary measures have not been taken to address the issue.

Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Sunday, July 19, 2026, that electricity is cut off several times every day in different parts of Herat, and that the water supply also stops whenever the power is disconnected.

They say the continuation of this situation during hot summer days has created serious difficulties for people’s daily lives, with families, particularly children and the elderly, facing greater challenges.

Residents of Herat add that power outages and water shortages during the summer season are not new problems and occur every year, but no fundamental solution has been found so far.

Herat residents are calling on Taliban officials to take serious measures to ensure a stable supply of electricity and water in Herat and address the people’s problems.

Power outages during hot weather have not only affected daily life but also disrupted people’s work, service activities, and economic operations.
