
Taliban’s Fatal Bullets Claim Young Life, Injure Uncle in Balkh Province
Local sources in Balkh province have reported that Taliban fighters shot and killed a young man while injuring his uncle in Mazar-e-Sharif city, the center of the province.
According to the sources, the incident occurred on Saturday, June 3, near the Band-e Amir Hotel in the 9th security district of Mazar-e-Sharif.
The Taliban targeted Yasin with gunfire while he was driving a car, accompanied by his father and uncle. They had fled after a physical altercation with one of their friends during a wedding ceremony.
As per the sources, the Taliban fighters have also detained the father and injured uncle of the deceased individual.
Sources in Balkh province state that this is not the first time Taliban fighters have opened fire on civilians in the province without conducting any investigation. In the past, several individuals have been targeted and shot without any apparent reason by members of this group.
In the most recent incident, which took place last year, eight individuals were killed in Mazar-e-Sharif as a result of Taliban gunfire on a car.
