Iranian security forces have apprehended two individuals on suspicion of belonging to the ISIS group, according to reports.
The Hozeh News Agency disclosed on Tuesday, April 2, that the arrests occurred in Qom province within the country. However, specific information regarding the identities of the detainees and the circumstances surrounding their apprehension remains undisclosed.
This development transpires amidst Iran’s heightened vigilance following a recent suicide bombing in Kerman, for which the Khorasan branch of ISIS claimed responsibility, resulting in the tragic loss of at least 80 lives.
The Iranian Ministry of Intelligence had previously announced the capture of several ISIS commanders implicated in the Kerman explosions and related incidents. Among them is a commander identified as “Mohammad Adel Aref,” alias “Adel Panjshiri,” who is presently being pursued by authorities.
