Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan have held a phone conversation to discuss the regional situation.
Tasnim reported early Monday, October 12, that Araghchi had conveyed Tehran’s readiness to help initiate talks between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis.
According to the report, Iran’s foreign minister expressed concern over escalating regional tensions and emphasized that a military approach would further complicate the situation.
He added that the ongoing crises in the region had no military solution.
Meanwhile, tensions and clashes between Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s Houthis, who are described as being backed by Iran, have intensified over the past several months.
Recent Houthi missile and drone attacks on targets in Saudi Arabia have heightened concerns about the conflict spreading across the region.
