Chief of Defence Forces of Pakistan, Asim Munir, met with Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, to discuss efforts related to negotiations between Washington and Tehran.

According to the ISNA News Agency, on Saturday, May 23, Asim Munir also met with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi after arriving in Tehran.

Asim Munir arrived in Tehran yesterday evening as part of diplomatic efforts to facilitate negotiations between Iran and the United States.

Earlier, Pakistan’s Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, also visited Tehran.

In recent weeks, Pakistan has been trying to use diplomatic channels to encourage Tehran and Washington to engage in talks and reach an agreement through dialogue.
