A tanker from Iran has been targeted in a missile attack near Kharg Island.
Al Jazeera reported on Saturday, September 5, that no casualties have so far been reported in the attack.
Kharg Island is considered one of the key centers of Iran’s oil industry, with about 90 percent of the country’s crude oil exports shipped through the island.
Donald Trump, the US president, had previously threatened to seize Kharg Island.
The remarks come as tensions in the region continue over the Iran-US war, with the two sides yet to reach an agreement despite diplomatic efforts.
