Kazakhstan has announced that its grain exports to Afghanistan reached 302,000 tons in the first quarter of 2026.

Kazakh media reported on Monday, May 4, that grain exports from Kazakhstan to Afghanistan have increased more than fourfold.

According to the report, Kazakhstan’s grain exports to Central Asian countries, Russia, and China have also grown by 48 percent.

Afghanistan is considered one of the major importers of Kazakh flour and grain.

Following the Taliban’s return to power in Afghanistan in 2021, Kazakhstan has sought to further expand its trade relations with the group.
