Kuwait has condemned Iran’s attacks on two oil tankers belonging to the United Arab Emirates, which killed an Indian crew member and injured several others.
Al Jazeera reported on Tuesday, July 14, that Kuwait described Iran’s attacks on the Emirati tankers as “reprehensible.”
According to the report, Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the attacks a “flagrant violation of international law” and said they endangered maritime security.
Kuwait also expressed solidarity with the United Arab Emirates and called for an end to the conflict in the region.
The developments come as tensions between Iran and the United States over control of the Strait of Hormuz have escalated into military confrontations despite the two countries signing a peace memorandum.
