A land ownership dispute in Nangarhar Province turned deadly, claiming the lives of three individuals and leaving two others injured, according to local sources.
The incident, marked by armed clashes between two families, unfolded on the evening of Friday, March 15th, in the village of “Amlai”, situated in the Dara-e Noor district. Sources familiar with the matter have confirmed the tragic events to the Hasht-e Subh Daily.
The Taliban, acknowledging the clash, have stated that one person, who is injured, has been detained concerning the incident.
Regrettably, conflicts over land ownership and legal disputes are not uncommon in various regions of Afghanistan, particularly among rural communities, and sometimes culminate in violence.
This recent incident echoes a similar occurrence on February 23rd, when a dispute over land ownership in the “Khaja-Khel” area of Khogyani district, Nangarhar, resulted in the loss of two lives and left another individual injured.
