Local sources in Khost province have reported the killing of a lawyer in the province.
Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Tuesday, September 29, that Mufti Hedayatullah Hedayat was shot dead by unidentified gunmen this morning in Ismail Khel district of the province.
According to the sources, the motive and circumstances of the incident remain unclear, and the Taliban has not commented on the case.
The incident comes as reports of targeted and mysterious killings, as well as rising crime, have emerged in parts of the country in recent days, raising concerns among residents.
