Emmanuel Macron has said that the agreement between Iran and the United States could help establish lasting peace in the region and facilitate the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
In a post on X early Thursday, June 18, Macron said that Donald Trump had signed the agreement between Tehran and Washington in Versailles.
Macron added that the accord paves the way for sustainable peace and creates the conditions necessary for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
The French president described the agreement as “an important step in the right direction” and said it could also contribute to lower energy prices.
He further emphasized that the consequences of the agreement extend beyond the Middle East and are relevant to citizens around the world. According to Macron, the deal is expected to have an impact on global energy markets in the near future.
