Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson of the Taliban, has rejected recent statements by Pakistani officials who have described the attack on a police center in Bannu as having been planned in Afghanistan.

Mujahid, on Tuesday, 12 May 2026, said in a press release that the Taliban consider these claims to be incorrect and reject them.

He added that resolving problems between countries is possible through understanding, mutual respect, and genuine cooperation, not through accusations and threats.

The Taliban spokesperson said that Afghan territory is not used against any country and that they will not allow anyone to do so.

Yesterday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan stated that the evidence collected indicates the attack was planned by individuals based inside Afghanistan.

These remarks come at a time when tensions between the Taliban and Pakistan have increased in recent months, with both sides accusing each other of carrying out military attacks and supporting terrorist groups.
