Oil prices fell early Monday after reaching their highest level in about six months last week.
Al Jazeera reported early Monday, October 26, that the decline came amid escalating clashes between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis in the Middle East.
According to the report, U.S. crude oil futures fell by $1.60, or 1.55 percent, to $101.67 per barrel.
Brent crude futures also dropped by $1.56, or 1.34 percent, to $115.16 per barrel.
Two days earlier, prices had closed nearly $3 higher following Houthi attacks in Saudi Arabia that raised concerns about energy supplies.
However, by the end of the week, Brent crude had gained 6 percent, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude had risen by 2.3 percent.
