Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned missile and drone attacks by Yemen’s Houthi group on Saudi Arabia, describing them as “cowardly and heinous.”
Al Jazeera reported early Monday, October 26, that a statement from Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry said the Houthi attacks on Mecca and Medina violated the sanctity of the two holy Islamic sites.
According to the report, the ministry said the Houthi ballistic missile attacks on Mecca and Medina had violated the sanctity of the two holy cities, citing Saudi Arabia’s claims.
Kuwait also expressed its “full solidarity” with Saudi Arabia and said it supports all measures taken by the kingdom to “preserve its sovereignty and security.”
The Houthis, however, have denied targeting Mecca and Medina, the holiest sites in Islam.
Saudi Arabia had previously also accused the Houthis of carrying out drone attacks near Mecca and Medina.
