The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has announced that it will support economic recovery efforts in five Afghan provinces with backing from the Republic of Korea.
The agency said on Monday, October 26, that it was launching a new phase of efforts to support recovery and reconstruction in Afghanistan.
Under the second phase of the Reviving Economic Activities and Improving Vulnerable Environments (REVIVE II) program, the initiative will focus on strengthening livelihoods, rebuilding social infrastructure, revitalizing the economy and improving community resilience.
The program will cover Kabul, Paktia, Ghazni, Nangarhar and Kunar provinces.
UNDP said the second phase builds on the achievements of the first phase and aims to strengthen recovery efforts and improve Afghanistan’s economic conditions.
